Happy New Years -written from Halley R.L.-
Another year gone while another year gained, I like to say. Now is the time to say goodbye to 2011 and hello to 2012!
Though, the American scientists keep saying the world is supposed to end this year... Though I don't see how that's possible.
Anyway, I had to make sure the people here didn't drink too much. You know those British people, always trying to take more than they can handle. I made sure everyone got to their rooms safely and that no one tried to drive their snowmobiles. That can be dangerous. Normally I'm at the Russian Research Lab but last year the people here..... Um, let's just lets just leave it there, shall we?
New Years
This is my actually letter to Santa.
Dear Santa,
My name is Anastasia Draemel. I live in South Pole, Antarctica. This letter may be a little late, but it's better late than never, right? Hopefully you'll get this in time.
I don't want much for Christmas. For Marshal, an iPod, for Klaus, a book about monkeys, for Charlotte, a small rose bush, for Emily, a new laptop, and for Sonic, a new toy.
For me?
Well, I don't ask for a lot.
I just ask for a wooden boat. If you've read my letters before, this is what I've wanted for a while. I know you're a busy person, so I won't pester you, but this is what I would like.
And also, I want everyone

Ugh.... So tired.... Must... write though.... DAMN YOU TRIPTEPHAN!!
*clears throat* Anyway...
I went to the south pole American research lab Amundsen-Scott to celebrate.
It was so much fun!
There was plenty of food! Man, Dr. Harper knows how to cook~
About halfway through Dr. Bessette from the French and Italian research lab Concordia walked in with a bottle of champagne.
This is why I love the people here. They try to celebrate every holiday. It's fun to go to the different labs to celebrate different holidays!
The champagne was amazing~
Yes, I am 21. Don't worry.
Ugh... I can't do

Let me first clear up a common thought among people.
There are no polar bears in Antarctica. Only penguins (and the occasional puffin).
America visited me today and asked if Canada's polar bear.... I think the name was Kunijari or something.... came from my place.
... *facepalms*
Really?
He also asked me a strange question.
What is my favorite memory about the snow?
.....
Hmmm....
Probably finding Sonic, my husky.
I was walking to my snowmobile when I heard a high pitched bark. At first I thought it was the flagpole moving in the wind but then I heard it again. Walking over to where it
So, this is just a one shot that I got inspiration to write. It's a look into a part of Ana's past. Just thought it would be interesting... maybe... I don't know!

She tucked her short black hair behind her ear and looked up at the young man sitting next to her, blinking her dark blue eyes.

Blog Topic 3: Season When the Sun Doesn't Set
I swear, it drives me insane. I barely get any sleep during now.
But, something good comes out of it.
Well, more people come down to visit. It's my summertime~ Storms aren't as bad.
And the view is just stunning~
Here's a picture taken by one of the scientists: http://iceshelf.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/midnight.jpg
*sighs* It's a pain in the ass. At least it never gets all the way dark.
I better go try to get some sleep. The sun is behind the mountains for now so I get some sort of break.

I'm so sorry I haven't been talking much or uploading much lately. I've been so busy with this new project I'm working on and things like that!
I would like to ask what are you guys doing for Valentine's Day?
Um, excuse me fellow Antarctican, but I don't think anyone has territorial claims on us, because the Antarctic Treaty clearly states that no one is allowed to actually claim us. So yeah, just thought you should know ^^
